We’re excited to announce the BRISLA Awards 2019 will be taking place at the Conrad Hotel.
We are looking forward to welcoming our distinguished guests on Saturday 19thOctober at 6.30pm.
The BRISLA Awards represent the annual flagship event for the association and are an opportunity to celebrate the successes achieved by the British Sri Lankan community. The event recognises the important and diverse contributions made within society by British Sri Lankans in the encouragement of social cohesion, integration and prosperity.
The event, which is supported by a diverse range of attendees and organisations and now in its fifth year, regularly features distinguished guests.
The event will be celebrated with thought-leading speeches alongside a five-star menu prepared by the Conrad’s award-winning caterers. Monies raised from the event will be distributed to casualties of the tragic Easter Sunday incident earlier on this year.
The event is inclusive of a 3-course meal hosted by Mark Jones, entertainment from Jason Kouchak, a pianist from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, networking, speeches and a souvenir booklet.
Last year’s ceremony included The Rt Hon. the Lord Naseby, Sir Anthony Seldon, Prime Minister’s biographer, Vice-Chancellor of Buckingham University, Mr Wasim Khan MBE, Chief Executive Officer, Leicestershire County Cricket Club, HE James Dauris, British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Ambassador to Maldives, Mr Michael Burdon, President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Professor John Marshall MBE, Professor Emeritus UCL and Brigadier Simon Banton OBE.
